Can you help me with #... in Exercise #...?
You bet, just e-mail your question, & I'll try to get back an answer ASAP. A number of students have already accessed me with their questions. You can reasonably expect an answer in a day or so. Please be specific in your questions.
What do we do after we finish Jensen's Grammar?
I suggest working through the punctuation & writing books and applying the writing skills to all subjects. The purpose of the grammar books is to get students to write good sentences. Then they need to practice their writing by producing paragraphs, essays, reports, etc. See the scope and sequence section on this site.
Will you be at the .... Book Fair?
No, but you will often find our products in the booths of other vendors. Look for our books in the booths of others and ask for them.
How do I get on your newsletter list?
The newsletter comes out quarterly; the current issue is always posted on this site. If you want it e-mailed to you, just leave your e-mail address or sign up on the handy form provided. An e-mail confirmation will be sent that you are now on the list. If you don't hear back from me, please try again.
Can I get your books locally?
That depends on where locally is. A number of bookstores with a home school emphasis do carry our books. You will just have to look & ask at your local provider. Some home school consultants also offer our books. A partial listing of vendors is found in the links section on this site.
Can I copy ... from your book?
Some pages I encourage you to copy, things like charts and so forth. In Jensen's Grammar I even give you the right to photocopy the tests. If you want multiple students to use the book, have them write their answers on a separate sheet of paper. That way the book does not have the answers written in it. This method works well if the students aren't working in the book at the same time. The materials are copyrighted; please respect that and don't photocopy major portions of the books. It's easier and almost cheaper just to buy them.
What about grade levels?
These books can be used with a variety of grade levels. The Grammar Land books are designed for grades 5-7 but have been used successfully with older students as well. Most of the other books can be used by 7th graders and from there on up. I have even used a couple of the books to teach college students. A few people have used some of the books for grade levels lower than I recommend. That is fine; I have not used them at the lower levels, so I don't advocate using them there. Please see the scope and sequence section on this site.
Can I order directly from you?
Yes, just go to the ordering section and follow the directions there. If you are out of the United States, look at the links section for international resellers.
Will you grade my writing?
No, but the friendly folks at Write Guide, found in my links section, will do it. These folks, teachers and professionals, will read and comment on your writing; they will point out strengths and weaknesses.
Where are your sample pages?
You will not find any sample pages on this site. A sample page or two is really not helpful for understanding what is in any of the books, so I don't post them.
